hi

so i must confess, i just recently figured out how to get to my dashboard from my blog page. i had been going to blogspot.com and doing it. much easier using the link! just thought y'all'd think it was funny.

so i don't really have much to report, but wanted to post. since a certain someone is calling other someones out on not blogging. anywho, marriage has been on mind a lot. what it takes, what i would have done differently and how can i change it now. i have this passion/fetish with the 1800's and their way of life. i love to read romance novels occuring in that time period. i just started one yesterday and finished it today. i admit that was unwise and i put off a lot of things i shouldn't have. one being sleep. but, it occured to me how completely different the times are. most of the time i think it was easier back then. us girls didn't have all these conflicts and pressures to be equal with men. it was understood we were simply created differently. women went about sewing, cooking, and managing the house. sounds good to me. of course that's what i do, but i feel so much pressure to do so much more. they had time to visit w/one another and have quality talks b/c it wasn't often you had that chance. however, there were drawbacks like not having the advanced medicine we have and the modern technology, like the internet. i'm thankful for our advances, but i also wish life were more simple now. anyways, the other day i was talking w/lori hawkins and beth ellen. lori mentioned going to a polenesian? wedding. she said it was really neat b/c in that culture at the wedding you had sponsors. it was a great honor to be asked to be a sponsor. a sponsor is a couple who is simply, but seriously saying that they will be responsible, as much as possible, for your marriage. helping you through the first years and keeping you accountable. i think this is a great idea. i wish we had that tradition here. in a way, having the couples pray over us at our wedding was kinda that. but not to that extent. it was saying they'd been a model thus far. only one couple do we still really have contact with, about which i'm sad. but, i was thinking about asking that one couple to be our late sponsors. you know, we all need help. we all need iron to sharpen our iron (i'm not sure of the biblical address, but it's in there). sometimes spouses are wrapped up in the same things you are and you need that outside perspective. but i'd like to encourage those of you who are married, or dating to think about that. maybe we can start something. jesus only chose twelve. why not start with us? in titus, it instructs the old women to teach the younger women and the same w/the men. i know we aren't young, neccessarily, but it's not too late. then, we can also teach those younger than ourselves. anyways, that's on my heart a lot. i'd love to implement that in churches around the u.s. i think it would expand our hearts, minds, and knowledge so much. everyone would benefit. why else would god instruct that of us? he's so smart! i'm glad to know him and be his.

love you all so much.

i'm kinda lonely, so could you give me something to do, besides packing up my apartment, and comment. i know i'm whining, but i really miss those heartfelt discussions and since i'm not there to visit. . .

I have advocated a long time for mentors (Women's group) but with the busy schedules everyone has, it is hard. I, too, wish for a more simpler time and life. I don't think I'd miss the advances.

"anywho, marriage has been on mind a lot. what it takes, what i would have done differently and how can i change it now."

I have found myself having conversations about marriage and what it takes and what I should do now to prepare.

But at the same time I have major doubts that it will ever happen. For some reason my life is surround by people who are in my face about my lack of relationships and marriage. It seems like a constant struggle - no it is a constant struggle, to not dwell on it.

So much more to say but transparency isn't coming so easy.
