all kinds of news...
so, my surgery went well. healing just fine except for the 4 stitches that are out and not under my skin. i've been assured they will dissolve in 6-8 weeks time. (apparently my body does not like them. when i had my leg surgery the doctor had to pull 2 of them out!) i've noticed a vast improvement in several areas already and the doctor is very happy with that and that i should be able to back off the 2 meds he had me on and drop to only one of them once a day in a few months. =) i'm still not wearing pants with buttons well, but i don't mind. most of the time i just leave the button undone (gasp!) but i wear long shirts anyways that covers that and no one has noticed. i'm happy.
um, what next? i got a new car and a new job in one day while recovering! we'd been shopping for a toyota corrolla and ended up finding a toyota camry! god is good! we have much more room. the miles are a little high, it's an '06 with 94k, but with those cars, we aren't worried. it's in great condition and was well taken care of as far as maintenance. it's nice being closer to kassidy now while driving. we've already been to visit mom and dad and then to cumberland lake with it! it's so great having a/c again! later that day, i got a call that my interview had gone really well at the local hospital and they'd like to offer me the position! i had a great day! 1: it's here and not in l-ville. 2: it's full-time 3: full-time benefits which will save us my car payment each month! 4: i'm floating so it'll be great to learn all the units ie, icu/tcu/ob(rarely)/er/ortho/geriatrics/bariatrics/med surg. i love to learn and this will be quite a bit. also a decent pay raise. i'll be working 7p to 7a which gets me home in time to get k ready for school and then head to sleep while they are at school. my neighbor across the street works the same shift and she's already offered to carpool. i'm very excited. my start date is july 28.
i'm heading back to frazier for two weeks starting tomorrow and then head to flaget. i already have gotten the names mixed up!
not sure what else to inform on right now. michael didn't get any of the jobs he interviewed for. i hate bardstown politics. it's really a love/hate relationship here. love the place, feel, neighbors, that we have a house and hate the school structure. i know there are politics in everything, but it really makes me sick how much of a role they have in this school system. i'll be glad to leave!
got a lot of cleaning to do after being gone all weekend and bringing dirty clothes, etc. home. gotta get going. love you all and promise to catch up on my reading. our internet wasn't working for a week. sorry the update was long in coming. thank you all for your prayers!!
